I specialise in nature photography - trees, flowers, macro studies of insects and plant life - but the principles of photography are applicable to any subject, so composition ideas are similar whether you're taking a close-up shot of a flower, or a portrait of your favourite niece or nephew.

It's usually a 4 hour session, but this can be varied depending on your requirements and experience, the session being tailored to ensure we cover what you want, and to help you get the best from your camera.

I would normally expect us both to be taking pictures and comparing them to see how different viewpoints, lens choice etc. has an effect on the outcome. Whatever you want to address is fine, whether it's just the basics of what your camera does, or looking at specific techniques.

I use Pentax cameras, so if you're Pentax user too, I can offer that little extra that you're unlikely to find elsewhere. But whatever your camera, and whatever the make, I can help you get the best from it, as I've tutored on all the major brands, from beginner's models to the top of the range pro models.

Many people are finding they need help getting the most from software packages such as Photoshop and Lightroom. I offer tuition in these too, helping you get better results more quickly, reducing the work required to process images, and promoting better image management. Photography software tuition is normally carried out in the customer's home, and can be in the evening if required, maybe in one or two 2 hour sessions.

I am available weekends or weekdays, for any 4 hours during the day, though normally I book a 10am to 2pm session.
