1948 Olympics

Step back in time and browse never-before-seen photographs from the 1948 Olympic Games in London. The team at the Disabled Photographers' Society developed a film roll which was left in their donation box at the show in 2024... and made an astonishing discovery. The photographer remains a mystery; perhaps you know of someone who might have taken these shots?

Felt - HERE I AM

The HERE I AM gallery from Felt Photographic will give you the chance to experience photography differently.

Which image/s are you drawn to? What insight does this give you about where you’re at and what you need? What might change as a result? This is a unique opportunity to encounter photography from a new perspective and who knows, it might even change the way you look at images forever.

GALLERY TOURS

Gallery curator, Kat Mahale, has created this unique approach to photography using the felt sense, challenging and redefining how we relate to images. Grab your chance to be guided by Kat and your felt sense through the HERE I AM exhibition at the show. Book your session - 11am, 1pm and 2pm each day.

Liz was just 16 when she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour. In the ten months that followed the talented teenager was determined not to let her prognosis define her. Her passion for photography sustained her; leading to opportunities that took her from an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle to red carpets, West End Theatre shows and London Fashion Week. Liz died, on the 27th November 2024 but not before she had captured the hearts of many, leaving us the gift of her photography and her desire to make a difference in the world.

‘Capture’ Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour Charity was founded after her death to raise funds for vital research into the disease that killed her. Its rarity meaning that it receives no government or pharmaceutical company funding, and therefore survival rates have remained static over the last 20 years. Only 15% of those diagnosed live for 5 years post diagnosis. Liz lived for just ten months. Capture is a small charity with no overheads, all donations go directly to funding research to improve treatments and give others a better chance of life.
